Not everyone loves having their photos taken. While many just frown or cross their arms, some go even further to show it. What’s more, the way in which they might show it might be somewhat hilarious. All of these boxes check out when we talk about Sparky, a three-legged Italian greyhound who seemingly melts when the spotlight shines on him. His reaction is likened to jell-o when Kennedy Simmons, his current owner, tries to pose with him for a cute photo. But do not make the mistake of thinking that he’s not photogenic. In fact, it’s the other way around—his photos are enjoyed by thousands of followers on Instagram and many other outlets on the internet. “Sparky is so fun to be around. He is the biggest goofball, but he’s also very mischievous. If you don’t have eyes on him, he gets up on the table and snags food, or goes and grabs my socks from the hamper. Sometimes I describe him as a sour patch kid because he will snag my food from the table, but then just come curl into my lap right after, as if he didn’t eat my meal. He is very fearless!”

“He loves all dogs (especially his dog siblings), cats, and people… and especially FOOD. As wild as he is, though, if I’m having a bad day, he’s right there by my side and trying to comfort me. He is very affectionate.”
Let’s backtrack a little bit: Sparky broke his leg; it was traumatic to the whole previous family, and they just couldn’t let him enjoy being a normal dog

“I adopted Sparky from a client at work (I’m a veterinary assistant). Sparky had broken his leg with his previous family, and got surgery, but because they had seen him break his leg and it traumatized them a little bit, they were too scared to let him do anything once he had healed from the surgery, so they decided that he needed to have a puppyhood with someone that wouldn’t be scared to let him do stuff.”
Simmons, being a veterinary professional, knew what it needed and decided to adopt him

Sparky lost his leg because it never healed properly after it broke

It caused him lots of pain, and it constantly was hurting, so they were forced to make a tough choice
“After I adopted Sparky, he had to get a second leg surgery, but it just never healed right and it became very painful for him, so his leg ended up getting amputated.”
